RECEMAT is an extremely open cell structure, where the cavities cover over 95% of the total volume. This results in very low weight ratio compared with full material and an unbelievable rigidity and strength.

RECEMAT can be worked with appropriate conventional tools. It may also be compressed. This process offers flexible materials with a fully controlled porosity.

The basic material starts simply with an open cell polyurethane foam, which is being metallised. Then the polyurethane is removed by pyrolysing. The first metallisation is normally with nickel. This is the material which, after heat treating, is being used in applications where high electrical and heat conductance are of importance. For applications where high strength and rigidity are required the base material has to be chromised and heat treated further.
The result is a three dimensional, extremely porous structure of unexpected strength and wear resistance. The material can be machined, cut, rolled to form, drilled, brazed and with care, welded.
